Located north along the Corniche, the Luxor Museum houses an impressive collection of antiquities. Among the highlights are a small but important display depicting the young pharaoh Thutmose III, and an impressive wall painting of Amenophis III. Another wing is sent to Thebes under the New Kingdom, and contains two royal mummies. On the first floor near the exit, visitors will find a large cache of sculptures discovered in the Luxor excavations in 1989. Temple. Meanwhile, the upper floor contains a number of reliefs from the Temple of Akhenaten at Karnak, including beautiful Amarna-style bosses. Also on display are many small items found in Tutankhamun’s tomb, such as a shabti and models of servants who were said to have served the Pharaoh in later days.
